WILLIAM ELLITOT WHITMORE
Rare is the occasion these days that one walks into any venue and witnesses a performance that's completely unexpected, emotionally captivating and so intensely spiritual. All too often, one sees a band regurgitate a sound and/or style that's not only been done long before them, but clearly put across with much more aplomb. William shatters that chronically overwrought paradigm and hands you his heart all in one fell swoop. The result will leave you speechless, with more thoughts and emotions stirring within you than ever thought possible.
In short, this man's voice and vision are as necessary as a good stiff belt of whiskey after years out in the cold.

William hails from a small town that rests along the banks of the Mississippi River. He was born and raised on a horse farm, where he developed a deep love for the land. His songs reflect these important pieces of his life, along with influences as disparate as Ralph Stanley, The Louvin Brothers, Minor Threat and Captain Beefheart. William's performances often completely silence rooms full of young rockers, anxious to "get it on".

They stand mesmerized by what they see and hear before them, but mostly surprised as all hell by his dizzying realism. The passionate delivery of his songs will leave you with an overwhelming sense of inspiration, desire and awareness - an awareness of the fractions of life we all too often forget - the very pieces that are so valuable, but many times taken for granted.

As William puts it, "each song is it's own church and one can't help but step inside and share a seat. Expect no judgement, for the judge does not exist." And we are the last people to argue with that! William will be going on European tour with label mates Ten Grand this summer, and plans to tour the US this fall to support his new album.
