Nasty recorded Can I Say in early 1986, and Wig Out at Denkos in July 1987,
for Dischord Records before moving to Giant Records for the release of Field
Day in 1988. The Can I Say line-up reformed in 1992 to record Four on the
Floor for Epitaph Records and again in 2002 to record a full-length to be
released on Revelation Records. Dischord #19 Can I Say was originally released
as an vinyl album and cassette. In 1991 Dischord combined the Can I Say and Wig Out LPs onto one maxi-CD. Dischord is now re-mastering both records and will separate and re-release them onto two CDs including extra live and unreleased tracks. This newly remastered version of Can I Say features tracks 1-10 from the original single vinyl version of Can I Say; tracks 11 and 12 are from the same recording session and were originally on Selfless Records; tracks 13-16 are previously unreleased, were recorded live at the Electric Banana in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, February 6th, 1986, which also was Dave Smalley's first show. The album, "Can I Say?", was Dag Nasty's first record and was released in 1986. The band at that time was: Brian Baker - guitar (formerly in Minor Threat, Doggy Style now in Bad Religion) Dave Smalley - vocals (formerly in D.Y.S). Shawn Brown sang previous to this but is not on any records. Colin Sears - drums (formerly of Bloody Mannequin Orchestra now in the Marshes) Roger Marbury- bass (formerly of Bloody Mannequin Orchestra) |
"Wig
Out At Denko's" was released in 1987, by which time the band's personnel
had changed: |
